In some of the best gambling news it was recently reported that NBA superstar Jason Kidd will be handing over his newly won gold medal to a casino in Las Vegas, and it isn’t for the reason you probably think it was.
Kidd isn’t paying off a huge outstanding gambling debt. Instead, he is merely making good on a promise he made to Elaine Wynn one night during an extended stay at the casino.
“Last summer, we stayed at the Wynn for what seemed like a lifetime, close to three weeks,” Kidd said. “We met at a banquet, we got to talking, and she really understands the game.”
Kidd promised that if he won the gold medal in basketball at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, he would give the casino his medal – and he did it because of the way he has been treated by the casino.
“I told her I’d make a deal with her, that if we won the gold medal, I’d give it to her,” Kidd said. “She thought I was kidding. But I told her I had one already, and the way they treated us at the Wynn, it was the least I could do.”
Of course Las Vegas is one of the best gambling sites in the world. Unmatched by how over-the-top it is, It’s easy to get swept away by the incredible atmosphere.
